No, but I have a decent ammo quota on my 12 ga license... a side benefit from having participated in a few NSCC's (ages ago)... So I'm well within my legal rights to possess more than "a couple of boxes"...

Dear All
How many IFG'ian's buying land around my farm.
That should make you a legal hunter.
Sounds like a new business proposition - lol
Well there's nothing like it. The owner has to be around, that's all.
I will let you all know well in advance when i get a permit.
B. Regards

shamsher - who is a pradhan. a particular animal alone can be declared to be be legally killed by the DM or the wild life warden and only for man eaters or rogue elephants and the arms act says that a licence for a muzzle loader only can be issued for bonafide crop protection. this provision was before the wild life act of 1972. to the best of my knowledge the last time an order for destruction was issued was for a rogue subsequntly killed by a professional hunter in siliguri some 2 years ago. any corrections and updations are welcome.

Dear Sudhabiob
These are 2 different matters.
a) Where an animal had been declared a Rogue / maneater.
AND
b) Where the animals have been declared as pests.
In the 1st case, the forest officials get rid, or arrange hunters to get rid of the animal.
In the second case the farmer has to report losses to the DFO or the SDM/DM & obtain a permit, to destroy the pests himself. In this case the forest office does not take the pains (pleasure for many) of doing it themselves.
The arms & wildlife act still has many provisions - but most are not practiced.

Have shot/ handled a few Baikals and while they are all built like a tank, they won't be winning any beauty contests... Don't tell me you are comparing looks against the Indian made doubles...

It's European so compare it with the other European makes dude...
