AMMUNITION FOR 3006

Post by ASIF007 » Mon Sep 16, 2019 5:17 pm

After my recent purchase of IOF 3006 I was surprised to know only Sellior & Bellot 180 gms Cartridges are available with the gun dealers in Kolkata including the big ones of DN Biswas & NC Daw.
How will it be possible to acquire Sellior Bellot 165 gms match Cartridges & Winchester/Federal Cartridges ? I saw a recent video where all these ammunition are available in Mohali.

Thanks for your mail Vineet Armoury. I understand you are from Punjab and I am from West Bengal. But I have some restrictions:

1.) My licence is valid for West Bengal only.
2.) My quota is 100-200 a year and I have purchased already 60 rounds this year.

Please let me know what is the way about.

Please let me know if you have imported 12 bore Cartridges also if possible.

Regards
Asif

Sharing a picture of 30-06 ammunition. Sellier & bellot 180 gr is my latest purchase in may 2020 and costed me around Rs150 a pop in Punjab. I am not aware of market trends but sharing some info. so that it might be of help to some common gun enthusiast like me . In picture left is a S&B cartridge and right is a PPU from old purchase although I don’t remember the price of previous purchase.

Is the barrel twist rate on the IOF 1:10 like most .30 cal rifles worldwide ?
Anyone tried the lighter loads -150-165gr for accuracy ?

I think the twist rate of IOF .30-06 Rifle 1 turn in 12 inches from what I know

I’ve checked with a ‘technically inclined ‘ owner of an IOFB .30-06 and its 1:11 twist. Non standard , as usual.
Best performance he’s got is with 150 gr monolithic solids.
