Import of Taxidermy Tiger Skin into India

Post by rogerstar » Sat Jun 12, 2010 12:32 pm

Dear IFG members,

Any information provided by you would be of great help to me in Importing a Numbered Tiger Skin from Year 1946,from UK.Being Pre-1947,this skin is classified by Cites.

I also am arranging for a Cites Re-export permit for this skin to be Re-Exported from UK.

Please update me on the Regulations governing import of Trophy and Taxidermy Skins into India and also the Rule position if possible.

Any and all information would be appreciated.

Many Thanks in Advance.

Raj.

I do not think that you will be able to get it cleared. As far as I am aware only trophies of animals not found in India are allowed to be imported. No trophy/parts of an animal found in India, can be held without it being registered and the date for registration is long gone.

Would be nice if you can though.
