The "Mark 5" Revolver is ready to take the market by storm
Jagran correspondent, Kanpur: There's some good news for revolver aficionados. Soon they will have the Mark 5 revolver in their hands. Beginning with a 'safety lock' this has many unique features which make it the best revolver yet! This 'sliding revolver' has been approved by the board. After the 'dummy launch' it is now being readied for market launch. Small Arms Factory will soon begin manufacture and soon after it will be available to both civilians as well as police.
If we are to believe experts then the placement of its safety lock next to the trigger makes it stand apart from other revolvers. Besides this, it also makes its mark by not heating up after firing. The cylinder will be lighter than others but total weight will be approximately 750 grams. This .32 bore revolver will not have misfires. Also, the barrel is titanium with an insert/ liner. Even though the factory has not disclosed any rate/ factory is still debating the final rate - the manufacture is likely to start this month. This year's manufacturing target for Mark 3, Mark 4 Anmol and Mark 5 is 12,000 revolvers. According to Small Arms Factory's General Manager PC Barnwal, preparations are on to launch it in the market very soon. The revolver will be made available to both civil and police buyers.
These will be the unique/ special features: Weight 750 grams, 'effective range' 15 meters, titanium barrel, fibre grip, sliding lock, near barrel and mm 1.35 (did not understand the last bit?)
Additional features: Hammer, trigger, plate body, striker, cylinder, catch hammer, new barrel gate, light cylinder, powder coating, plus cylinder lock will be close to the barrel which will open on sliding it.
