Thanks!
Vikram - Appreciate the PM and all the info provided by your Lithuanian friend,
Here is some additional info about the TsKIB MTs guns that I gathered as I researched this gun....in case someone runs into one of these unknown guns in India.
Central Design and Research Bureau of Sporting and Hunting Weapons (TsKIB SOO) was established in 1946 by Peoples Commissar Order (Secretary of National Defense Industry) of the USSR as the head enterprise of the sporting and hunting sector.
They were tasked to make shotguns that could be used by the Russian Olympic & International shooters. They initially came up with SxS MTs/MC-10 /11 but then switched to OU. The MTs-6 and MTs-8 were born and the Russian olynpic teams had good success with it. the MTs-7 is the hunting version.
They also made exceptional guns for the Russian communist elite like Brezhnev/Khrushchev etc. and also for presentation to various international dignitaries. You can read more here..
TsKIB Soo Guns. Very interesting photo of Brezhnev with a MTs rifle and 2 colt revolvers when civilians were not allowed to own handguns.
Very few of these guns made their way out of Russia and they are relatively unknown outside Russia. In the link provided by Vikram above, I read that some one contacted the factory to inquire about prices and the cost for an Mts-7 was $15000 in 2008 when a new Beretta 687 cost $2000. I can understand the cost from a workmanship perspective as these guns are entirely hand made.
Here is link to their current production on their website. These were quoted around $40000+ in 2008.
