This is a real good example of post sales service. The top man sending a personal reply says it all.

Dear GNV,
In this process you turnout to be a tuner......I am joking....
As per my idea and experience , velocity and accuracy is diagonally oposite and sweet spot comes somewhere in between.
I expect your SX will do well at <=9 fpe and NX at <=10 fpe.
The most important fact is that at what max velocity the gun gives consistant accuracy.
I found the NX club Elite is the best gun in this respect.

@ Big Daddy,
When I purchased my first ORION and found the scope mounting grooves were of wrong dimensions I sent my first email to Dr.Shirsat. Since then I sent a lot of emails to him for about 3months. And he always replied to my emails. At that time he was busy travelling promoting his gun and yet he would always reply me. Later I noticed that sometimes he was giving his replies between 12AM and 1 AM. When I noticed this I stopped bothering him with my emails. My latest email to him was after nearly 2 years. Similarly whenever I email their office for some information I always get a reply. I think Precihole Sports is the only Organised manufacturer of airguns in India.

@ Basu,
I think one can not compare a Club Elite with an ORION. The Club Elite would be great for paper target shooting at 10 mts in an indoor range with target pellets. But out on the field at longer ranges i.e 20 to 30+ meters 0.177 field pellet travelling at near 700 -800 fps will have a much flatter trajectory than a 0.22 travelling at 500 to 600 fps. Pellet drop would be much less in 0.177 than 0.22 as range increases and so 0.177 is much more forgiving in estimating range and compensating for pellet drop. In my experience it was much easier for me to hit a match box at 30 yards with 0.177 than with a 0.22. But I had also seen expert shooters hit a match box at 40 yards every time with their 0.22 guns.

Hunting airguns require both accuracy and good ft.lbs. Since hunting is no longer an option in general for an airgunner now in India we can forget about ft.lbs. Now we need consistent groups over any practical range one prefers with a smooth gun for any kind of airgun target we want to shoot at. But I think a flatter trajectory gives better groups.

Regards,
GNV

While chronographing my SX ORION last evening this is the result of over 200 pellets hitting the same general area on a wall from about 7 mts. The hole is three inches deep.

This unknown Pellet weighing 13.02 grains average weight gave the following results.

IMG_7645.JPG
Each String is 10 shots.

String # 1.

Lowest : 641.1 fps / 11.88 ft.lbs
Highest : 665.2 fps / 12.79 ft.lbs
Average : 649.1 fps / 12.2 ft.lbs
Extreme Spread : 24.1
Standard Deviation : 6.47

String # 2.

Lowest : 640 fps / 11.84 ft.lbs
Highest : 652.5 fps / 12.31 ft.lbs
Average : 646.1 fps / 12.1 ft.lbs
Extreme Spread : 12.53
Standard Deviation : 3.6

String # 3.

Lowest : 641.3 fps / 11.89 ft.lbs
Highest : 660.9 fps / 12.63 ft.lbs
Average : 649.3 fps / 12.19 ft.lbs
Extreme Spread : 19.61
Standard Deviation : 4.89

I chronographed some 10 different pellets with 10 shot strings using my Shooting Chrony Beta. The results would follow.

Just now the courier delivered the Ballistol Reblueing Liquid from ballistol.in.

I'll reblue my rusted ORION once I complete the chronographing.
