Hello Harish,

Thank you for that information, is it the "All Steel" .22 Revolver you are referring to?

November is just about a month away!

Did you get this information from the Factory?

Any idea what it will priced at?

Please share the information here, I, for one, will be obligated.

Thanks again!

Hi supershaji,

Well its a .32, and may be the factory is giving the first delivery in diwali. I had a information about it by a agent who do works of TL in Kanpur. He said that the coming up revolver is 250 grams lighter than present one. May be its titanium alloy.. (Hope So) I have already booked .32 mark III and waiting for the collection date.

Regards
Harsh

hello Shivhare,

Thanks for that clarification!

There was talk of an all steel .22 from IOF.

Do you think you could ask your contact about it?

Would be nice to know.

Thanks again.

Dear members,

The agents in Kanpur, one Mr Singh for example, work for money for customers who don't want to or cant do the running around to procure TL from the local administration. They are not employees of the Indian Ordnance Factory and have no idea what goes on at the decision making level in Delhi at every stage of development, production and finally, commercial sale.

As far as the "titanium" .32 revolver goes, it is still just a news published in a Hindi daily more than six months ago and there is no confirmed or unconfirmed news of it getting into production.

Now comes the .22 "all-steel" revolver. The .22 IOF revolver is produced only by Ordnance Factory Ishapore and I have confirmation that it is not going to be ready for commercial sale in at least ONE YEAR. This is last week's update from people at the top.

Hope that helps

TC

Re: about iof .32 bore revolver Mark IV

Finally called the SAF, Kanpur to enquire about the MK-IV;

A gentleman by the name Goud took the call at the Marketing Cell, but a shame that he himself had no clue about the mysterious MK-IV revolver. He actually said that he had "no idea", except that he "has heard" ("udti khabar aayi hai ki...") that there is a change in the barrel. sigh  He knew nothing else.

I asked about the waiting period for delivery of the revolver once booked, and he had no clue about that either, and mentioned that the booking are coming in since they opened, but none of those customers (who have booked the MK-IV) have been given any delivery date yet by the SAF.

the price is 87,012 INR and the same can be booked online as well apparently.

I guess I'll just go and get myself a MK-III from the Nagpur outlet, apparently they are "freely available" there according to the Ambajihari Marketing HOD, Mr Mukharjee (who also does not know the difference between a Pistol and a Revolver, says he's new.... sigh!), a gentleman nonetheless. I really wish they trained these guys better about their products before letting them interact with (prospective) customers.

Viva la Hope!
