Dear Singh,

My father got the same Colt .32 detective special with original grips. He purchased in 1980 and also have original bill. Is it .32 or .38. If .32 let me know I can arrange some .32 hollow point H&R magnum cartridges for you. They are not easily available in India.

Nice revolver vinay singh. Congrats. I am a Colt owner too. Since you wanted opinions all I can say from the pics is that the gun seems to have been reblued and the original grips replaced with a good aftermarket pair. It is a wonderful weapon and apparently in very good condition. And by the way this is a Detective Special second model. Don't know why the thread reads "police positive sub nosed"

Cheers

TC

TC I agree to your comments about the bluing and grips but have your previously seen a .32 Colt PP with a ramped sight and shrouded ejector in 2 1/2 inch format?

Vinay - some more pictures will definitely help.

This is a Colt Police Positive - Fourth Issue revolver. These guns were manufactured around 1977-78. The Fourth Issue Police Positive is a blued revolver with a shrouded ejector rod housing and a ramp sight. They were made in .38 spl caliber and I presume that some were made in .32 caliber too.

More pictures please ?

best,
