IFG Poster of the Month Award

Post by mundaire » Tue Sep 06, 2011 10:53 pm

On behalf of the entire IFG team, I'm happy to announce the institution of the IFG Poster of the Month Award. The Idea was mooted sometime back by Eljefe, who has also been kind enough to sponsor the prizes.

Members may nominate any post they find to be specially interesting for this award by posting on this thread. The conditions are:

1. The content of the post must be original, not a copy paste job AND the post must be exclusively posted only on IFG and not plastered all over the web.

2. There can of course be references posted within the post from other sources, but they should not constitute the bulk of the post.

3. Posts from any section of IFG maybe nominated EXCEPT FOR the following sections: Humour, Quizzes & Teasers, Buy/ Sell, Yellow Pages

4. The winners will be decided by the Moderator team, their decision is final.

5. Since members of the moderator team are the jury, their posts are not eligible for the award.

6. The winners of the award will have the following tag under their usersname "Poster of the Month"

7. Only winners located within India will be given prizes, as the cost of postage overseas would be more than the value of the prize. I'm afraid overseas winners will have to be content with wearing the badge. :)

AND THE WINNER of the inaugural POSTER OF THE MONTH AWARD IS:

prashantsingh for his excellent posts on the thread Maneater of Devprayag.
Prashant wins a nice trigger lock:

Cheers!

congrats to prashantsingh and a kiss on the cheek to eljefe for sponsoring the prizes.

-- 06 Sep 2011, 19:01 --

I would like to announce here that in appreciation of this effort, I will sponsor the October prize. (Oct. is the beginning of pheasant season and most driven shoots begin in Oct). I wish to sponsor a pair of 12 bore snap caps for the October winner. I will liaise with the mods re: how to post etc.
I further commit here that should the mods, ever choose to honour my posts as post of the month, my prize go to poster no. 2 to encourage more quality posts.

Poster of the month..... and rightly so.
The Maneater... thread was a well written and gripping tale!
Congratulations Prashant and thank you for the time and effort that you put into the post.

There can be no doubt that Prashant's post about the Maneater of Devprayag is completely deserving of this honor. I cannot recall a thread that I've read on any forum that I was as excited about as this one. It was well written, full of information, and what's more, true! Thank you, Prashant, for this contribution.
