My new Astra 3000 (.32 ACP)

Post by amit888_2000 » Wed Sep 22, 2010 3:59 pm

Meet-n-Greet the Astra 3000 (.32 ACP)

This post-war concealed hammer, pocket pistol was manufactured in 1951 by Guernica - Spain for the Hamburg Police. It was put in production in order to replace the Astra Mod.300.

It has looks of the German Nazi pistol.

The Astra 3000 was an updated version of the Model 300, with a grip that swelled near the bottom, a pushbutton magazine release on the lower left grip, and a loaded chamber indicator. It was made in .32 ACP and .380 ACP.

I am sharing a few pictures of the pistol.(Photography done by olly (Anupam))

ya, done 25 shots, shoots well, as the pistol size is small - .32 ACP recoil is gr8.

Have you blued the weapon?I've experienced quite a few jams with Spanish pistols, they're quite sensitive to bullets.Using IOF ammo in it?

Its elder brother could handle the 9mm in Largo, Parabellum and bergmann (I think)
built like a tank, good extraction and ejection.
How was it with this 32 version? Ammo used? distance and grouping?
Bluing looks too good to be the original.
Smell it and see how it smells. Good giveaway if reblued. 8)

Congratulations!
It looks authentic but as eljefe says, the bluing looks too good to be true.
The reason you feel the recoil more is that it has a blowback type of action

Now, that's a beauty. Amit, I guess, will have to visit your place again to have a look at this one. :)

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.
