Hello my friends,

I m actually.... not an indian but my wife is and we are planning to move, earlier or later, again to India (Chandigarh / Ludhiana). Right now, we are living in Germany and I m doing 25m 9mm pistole competition and starting with IPSC.

Would love to do the same in India.

What do you think? Are some groups doing something in IPSC, right now? Is there something in CHD?

IPSC, IDPA, PPC etc is not held in India due to various restrictions on firearm and caliber ownership. 9mm, .38spl (i think) are restricted calibers and civilian firearms ownership for these handguns will be minuscule. What will be even more limited is the ammo availability to shoot such events.

It’s not a bleak picture though for someone looking to shoot ISSF events and centre fire, rimfire and air pistol events are VERY popular in the handgun category and there will be ranges in both locations that can help you pursue it if you are interested. I’ve known people who’ve shot both IPSCand ISSF events outside India and have enjoyed both.

Good luck with your relocation!

Cheers
SS

.38 spl is no longer a Prohibited bore as per the Arms rules 2016
Any Pistols (except 9mm Parabellum, 9x19mm/9mm Luger/9mm Parabellum Plus) is a Permissible arm so .38 is legal now
