Groupings with various competition pellets

Post by fantumfan2003 » Sat Aug 24, 2013 11:03 am

Dwindling stock of pellets and the recent, ongoing "Panipat" of the rupee against the dollar, euro and pound sterling motivated me to look around for a local alternative to H&N and RWS.

Tested the Mastershot Yellow and Diana Shot Flat Head Selected Match pellets along with H&N Finale Match in my FWB300SJ and the results are as in the attached image.

Groups were shot at 9mtrs and from a very stable platform. My FWB likes the MSY but I would not even practice with the Diana Shot pellets. Diana Shot have a loose fit but MSY are nice and snug.

Please be aware that this will probably work for me only and your results might be different.

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

Hi FF,
> Excellent study & comparison :D
> As you rightly pointed out - This may have worked well for you - Nevertheless there is a consensus amonst shooters that MSY performs well as compared to other brands.
> I wonder if MSY is available in 0.22cal - Would love to experiment with my Samurai, Orion & Turboshot - Should be fun & revealing :D
