I have a question....................if an old shotgun is lying in the house and if there are no documents for the gun, then in that case how can that gun be entered into a new licence and declared........

The gun should have had some paperwork to begin with, if not, then that firearm was being held illegally. There is no way to "register" it. However there have been cases where old firearms(with either expired paperwork or no paperwork

) have been discovered by relatives/family after the death of the original licensee (or illegal holder of the firearm), these must be immediately reported to the Police. The downside is that the onus of proof will be on you because the Police will very likely believe that you either obtained the firearm illegally and then are claiming that you just "discovered" it.

or up to some other mischief.
Either way, a can of worms if you ask me!
