Wasn't there already a long discussion on this? Sudesh, you may want to try searching through some of the earlier posts under the legal & airgun sections....
Cheers!

Hello,
I doubt that there is a specific prohibition on the caliber of air rifle and I am not too sure on this. What might matter is that, it should not be over the prescribed limit on power for that class of air pistol or air rifle. There is apparently a test to prove that the pellet does not penetrate a pine board(or some such) of a certain thickness(1 inch?) from a certain distance(??).
If the rifle you are talking of qualifies(it may not) then there should be no objection to import.

Guys, our mindsets are best suited for the US, but I recall a post where it was mentioned that carrying an air rifle as the part of a baggage poses no restriction on the caliber. The wood test, of course, applies.
BTW, if anyone can bring me down the Beretta PX4 Co2 and .177 Eun Jin and Gamo Rocket pellets, let me know; I shall send the money over. Paypal or Wire, it's up to the person who is willing to help.

That's his personality; no beating around the bush, just tell it as you see it. He's often misunderstood, just like MJ.
PS: I have no idea what dodgy advice you gave and don't need to know too.

Hi Guys,
Request your advice please.
Could there be a legal problem if I get a RWS 350 Magnum as personal baggage throu a colleague who is an ex patriate. These guys travel home to Germany twice a year. The price translates to about Rs. 20,000/-

Went to buy pellets at Oriental Fire Arms and Ammunition, Cannought Place, New Delhi some time back.
The guy showed me two Diana air rifles (looked like RWS 350 Magnum) and asked for Rs. 55,000/- and Rs. 60,000/- respectively.
Will it be worth a buy?
Thanks// Atanu
