Impact of New Arms Amendment Act in Mumbai

Post by nbk3y7k » Wed Jan 08, 2020 12:21 pm

Just checked with Mumbai CP office Arms department... It has been confirmed that no impact on number of weapons to existing arm license under Sports and Protection category. Also renewal have been increased from 2 years ( currently for an arms license holder having handgun used to get only 2 years) to 5 Years. For others category and weapons more than 3 they will issue notice for deposit soon.

Under Sports category you can acquire as many weapons as the authority may grant. For self protection maximum only 2. The 3rd has to be deposited (if under Self protection) within a year to the local PS or Arms Dept.
