ARMS LICENCE RENEWAL 1 YEAR ONLY

Just heard from a clerk in Arms Department Kolkata that the Arms Licence renewal is valid for 1 year and not 3 years as earlier. Is it true?

Just got mine renewed. it is for 3 years.

I am certain that in Kolkata any current Arms Licence has only 1 year renewal period only. I spoke to the Arms Department yesterday. Its really frustrating to pay 1550 for a 1 year period validity. Sadly this is for Kolkata only and not for the rest of West Bengal.
Also heard the online process is tedious and takes a 1-2 months sometimes, which used to be completed in a week earlier. The clerks are themselves helpless and are advising us to file a Writ petition. The clerks are saying the situation may change after the election.
Senior members from Kolkata please advice what should be done.

The Arms Licence RENEWAL in KOLKATA is still for 1 year as on today. Yet we have to pay the same fees for 3 years. I do not think this is the case anywhere else in India. Why is every Kolkatan arms owner silent on this??
