Import of Air Guns banned in India...!!
Dear fellow IFG members,
In case your are thinking of ordering any Air Rifle / Air Pistol (even a .177 caliber)... Pls
DO NOT do that...
The is a Notice issued by the Delhi High Court on 18th November 2011to the Courier Companies & Courier Terminal Custom Officials, which clearly instructs them NOT to release any Air Rifle / Pistol weapon.
The scan of the Notice is attached herewith...
Moderators: Pls highlight this as much as possible so that nobody else (apart from me) loose their hard-earned money...
I got to know this today as one of my Targetting Air Rifle has been confiscated by the Customs...
Reagrds,
Nazeef Kidwai

friend,
its a sad thing.but one of my friend got an fx500 pcp couple of days ago.i think this govt order will spoil the shooting sports drastically,if put into action.i hope this order is withdrawn.
i have a strange feeliing that indian producers are behind this(i may be wrong).(this is a serious accussition,i know)
though one of my friend is a airgun producer.
regards

I think it's only through Delhi Customs as few months back Delhi HC passed some law regarding Air guns. This is not an All India Law I dont think Delhi HC can pass a law that covers the entire country it's either the job of the Supreme court or a ministry.
If in the worst case its true then I am renaming The Republic of India as the The Communist Republic of India.

Bunch of buffoons that our leaders are! Talk about one hand not knowing what the other is doing.. Here we are hoping against hope that one day our leaders and bureaucrats will wake up and we will be able to get decent guns at decent prices. Somebody does the right thing and starts to raise our hopes and aspirations with a slight trickle of airguns and here comes some stupid holier than thou aleck who has nothing more important to do other than make love to animals shoots down the aspirations of half the country!
Somebody send her a sexed up Horse or Saint Bernard or something that will keep her busy and content!

Speak softly and carry a big gun!

Hi,
Yes it is just for Delhi Jurisdiction only since the order has been given by the High Court and not by Ministry. But anyway we have to keep our finger crossed.
Waiting for any news!

I will be going to Delhi on Monday in an attempt to get me package released… although, I know that it’s a ‘NO-WIN’ situation against those ‘Men-in-whites’…
So, any suggessions / ideas…?? (Except for - it’s a real waste of time & effort…!! Which I know…!)
Worst case scenario: Does anyone know of any Agent who can be of some help…??
