Re: Arms License Application rejected
Congratulations Arjun.
Guys Arjun won a bronze medal recently. I will let him give the details.
One suggestion Arjun.
Why don't you go to the fellow who rejected your licence in the first place and show him your certificates.

Re: Arms License Application rejected
Thank you gents.
I had taken part as a Zero Shooter in the recently concluded U.P.S.R.A skeet competition, where in i was the top scorer. But obviously got no medal, me being a zero hooter and all.
Buoyed by that, i was really looking forward to my entry in the 2nd Gun for Glory competition being held in Pune by Mr. Gagan Narangs GFG Academy.
The Official training was on the 17th, with the competition on the 18th.
One day, i get to know through a friend that the organizing committee wont be providing any ammo for the shotgun shooters! BYO suddenly sounded very stupid!
So, after a few hours of frantic searching, i arranged the ammo in pune.
The next day (on the 15th)at 8 pm, my friend in pune calls up and tells me that the official practise was held today and the competition is tomorrow!!! I did utter a few profanities at that time.
anyway, i went and caught an early flight and landed in pune by 1040 am, went to my room, dropped my bags, went to the range, ran around and obtained my competitors card, found out that the guys were finally providing ammo at last, picked up the ammo and went to the range. In five minutes, i was shooting my first round!!!!
after that, ten minutes of rest and they informed us that some people had dropped out and i would now be shooting in the first detail, so out i went again and shot my second round!!
My efforts were good enough for a bronze.
If only i was there a day earlier and had shot a bit there, the gold would have been mine!
But, excuses never do help.
i am glad in a way because this helped me really experience match pressure and i am glad for that. next target, D.S.R.A!!!!

Great news friends.
Arjun won the "Gold medal" in skeet today. He was taking part in the Delhi State R. A. games .
Good show Arjun. You've just started and have done so well. Wishing you many more medals in the future.
Arjun ......I seriously feel you should go with all your certificates and show them to the fellow who rejected your licence application initially.

Prashant, not a good idea, you never know when you need that person again:) and who knows, you end up going to the same person for your license renewal

Re: Arms License Application rejected
Thank you for the kind words.
I firmly believe that civil servants should remember that they are there to help us, not lord over us.
So, if i am right about something, shall not keep quiet.
As it is, my renewal is coming up and i am going to take all my certificates and letters and medals to the licensing branch and ask them their plan of action.
There is no personal enmity here. The poor buggers are blindly following the home ministrys circular! I pity them for their position. Being forced to follow orders from above and feeling the wrath of people below you is an uncomfortable position.
Anyway, i shot a score of 99/125.
I have the north zone coming up in a fortnights time and want to shoot a good clean score there too.
Fingers crossed and hard at work!
