IHP N35 VS SDB Artemis/ Sports

Post by dalvipravin » Tue Mar 19, 2019 1:13 pm

Hi All ,

I guess long time.....

I am looking for a break barrel Indian rifle which I can use long range. I would like to have any opinions on SDB Artemis / Sport or IHP N35 in .177

There are quite a few threads here and I had been reading as much as i can past few days here on these rifles. But few questions

1) Is it worth buying N35 Air Rifle at 12500 INR in mumbai ? -- With Scope Rail
2) Does SDB holds upper hand in terms of Quality , accuracy and asthetics over IHP ? as I have always shooted N25 in sport back in 90s and never lay hands on any SDB rifle.

I know Precihole NX100 in wood will be the superior one but am keeping that option alast.... anybody has bought IHP N35 recently with scope rails ?

Regards,
Pravin

hi pravin, as per my experience if you are interested in 10 m paper target shooting then go for precihole cclub elite & if you are interested in plikling for long range like 20 m or 30 m then go for sdb sport or artemis you can also consider genex which is light weight but having solid punch that is enough for 30 m . if you wish to buy any sdb air rifle then buy from united shot kolkatta dealer he is offering very resonable price as compair to any online air rifle seller.

Thanks Sagar ,

I am not looking for 7 8 ft/lb gun for Target ( already have a N25 tuned springer ) I am looking for long range - beyond 20 30 meters plinking when I go to native place ( something around 12 ~15 ft/lb)

Any recent experience with N35 ? as per my reading here SDB does not accept foreign pellets and I intend to use RWS and JSB 8.4 gr pellets
I am from Mumbai , United Shot do provide shipping ? any contact if you have ..

Cheers
Pravin

I dont know what, but there is something very romantic about IHP. I bought one 3 months back for 9500 without scipe rail here in Chandigarh.

Romantic.... Well yes can say so as I used IHP in my early age and found them good looking and accurate amongst the options we had back in 90s ..

Heart says IHP35 though it's outdated compared to SDB / PH ... but hoping it's a 12ft/lb rifle being 35 model and still open for it

Can you share pics of the latest one you got ?

Pravin

I have fired JSB Exact 8.4 gns, Geco & a few more.
They fit quite well.
Precipell FH 8.2 gns does very well in SDB barrels.

From the "long range shooting" perspective (as stated in the starting post of this thread), the absence of the Aarmr Hurricane from the list of probables is rather intriguing.

I think it is accidental.
I may or may not like that is secondary issue but Armar 15 which I had tested in .22 showed good promise in terms of accuracy with good power.

So

Artimis do accept foreign pellets which is good
Aarmr I know is missing and it's due to the looks of it .. I feel it's not my taste specially the stalk of the rifle I like retro wooden stalks

Thanks for the pic of N35 ...jassi :) Do we know how much ft/lb N35 .177 was ?

If it's less than Artemis then I think I may go with Artemis as mostly am going to scope the rifle anyways ...

Sorry was out of town so could not reply you all

Thanks , I discussed with Anirudha , he seems to be good fellow ... I discussed on the muzzle breaks .. the recent one comes with muzzle to reduce the noise and reduce the turbulence at the exit ( I guess) pellet travel but that makes the front sight to come back 2 inches on the barrel which to me doesn't look great :(

The older ones didnt have muzzle and the front sight is like all IHPs ... and he mentioned there is no other difference in the inside of the barrels..

Anybody here used the old and new Artemis ? any difference noticed with new muzzle barrels apart from noise reduction ?

Cheers
