Precihole NX200 Ultimate loose trigger?

Post by The_Optimist » Mon Apr 21, 2025 11:25 pm

I have recently ordered a Precihole NX200 Ultimate from a website. I have received the item yesterday after a lot of hassles as their customer service was quite sloppy.

I have only ran about 20 or so pellets through that rifle but one thing has come to my notice, the trigger is floppy and has sidewise play when not loaded. In loaded state it has no play and shoots fine but in unloaded state it's floppy like the trigger of those Merlin lever action rifle.

I have asked the seller over Whatsapp and he said it is normal and even the Precihole PCPs are like that. It may be true but I am not convinced as another air gun seller said it's not normal.

I have contacted Precihole as well but they are yet to respond.

Could you guys answer whether it is normal to have a floppy trigger on Precihole NX200 Ultimate?

I can't say for Nitro system but the trigger in my Px120 isn't floppy, cocked or not. A little bit of play is there though, which I think is fine. It doesn't bother me.

If the trigger has no play when the rifle is cocked then the trigger is fine.

Thanks for the input, but in my case the trigger is quite floppy, like if I put the rifle upwards resting on the stock, the trigger blade moves downwards, the loose travel is around 5 mm backwards and has sidewise play.

The trigger has no play when the rifle is cocked, but when it is unloaded it is so loose that the trigger blade rattles when the rifle is moved and drops down when it is placed on the butt.

I wish I could post a video here but don't know how to do that as I am new here.

Precihole system is very simple. I disassembled my air rifle without any prior training or reading the manual (who does that? Lol). The trigger's sensitivity can also be adjusted then.

You can maybe search tutorial on YouTube on how to disassemble and see if any springs or part is missing that holds or pulls the trigger.

Just a thought, but you might consider whether the gun being cocked puts pressure on the sear/trigger, causing it not to wobble by holding it against the pivot pin/screw in a certain position.

I actually thought ultimate is ultimately covered (I mean resolved) all the issues of its elder brothers.

I am unable to find the detailed schematic for NX200 Ultimate air rifle online, let alone finding a YouTube video. The trigger assembly of NX200 and NX200 Ultimate is different and so far I am unsure about the availability of spare parts for the NX200 Ultimate trigger assembly.

So far I have been able to locate a blurry drawing of the trigger assembly of NX200 Ultimate on the official website in the owner's manual, which can be accessed here https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/6620 ... timate.pdf

I contacted Precihole Support regarding the spare parts list for Precihole NX200 and got a call from someone who had the audacity to tell me that NX200 Athena and NX200 Ultimate had the same spare parts. I had to explain to her about the different safety position and trigger assembly, then she said she will forward my query to the technical team.

Yeah, I think that's the case here. Whether that is intentional by design or because of any mechanical fault remains to be seen.

Update on the trigger 'issue'

Precihole has informed me that the floppy trigger is normal on NX200 Ultimate model, it is by design.

Previously, they said it was an issue and had to be sent to their factory for checking/repair but after consultation with their technical team, they told me that it is a normal feature of the air rifle.

From my interaction with them, their support personnel seem prompt in responding and handling customer issues but they may be provided with information on their products.

I wonder why the owner's manual does not mention the trigger floppiness, even searching online I could not find much information.
