Paint chipped off the air rifle

Post by Zebronics » Fri Nov 08, 2024 9:43 pm

I noticed a dark brownish spot on the lower part of the trigger area, the day my Precihole Athena arrived.

Gave it a light rub with my thumb and the paint scraped off from that part.

Should I go for a replacement or just grit, degrease, clean and paint over with nail polish over the area. And call it day?

My 2 major concerns are:

1) Will the nail polish hold up
2) Can there be other areas where the gun could have been affected (i.e. inside the rifle, outside seems to be otherwise crystal clean)

Also for reference this is my first air rifle, so I thought it is better to resolve this with some more experienced folks on the forum.

Since it is paint and not bluing, clean it with alcohol and then use spray paint. Will be good as new.

I thought that NX200 had blued metal parts, but now it appears that at least the trigger guard is painted instead of being blued or anodized.

Could someone confirm whether the compression chamber and barrel of NX200 is blued or painted?

I have ordered an NX200 Ultimate online but I am yet to receive it, hence, I am unable to confirm myself.

Update: I have received my Precihole NX200 Ultimate and can confirm that the trigger guard is painted and the finish leaves quite a lot to be desired.
