LLAMA .32 MAINTENENCE AT FIELD

Post by DEBAETE » Sun Jun 06, 2021 9:41 pm

Hello Freinds,
I have been using llama .32 since couple of years, during early days I had used indian kf ammo and found it un reliable, so I tried geeco, s&b, Hornady ammos and satisfied with its power and reliability. Still for target practice I often use kf due to its low cost. Even in newly purchased kf ammo few round often miss.
So I need suggestions from my friends that πŸ‘‰ 1. is it due to low quality of ammo or due to my llama firing pin or hammer isn't striking with sufficient force. 2. Also if anyone can pls tell how to change firing pin at field and give tension in hammer spring.

Because I located in outreach places of arunachal near Chinese border these repair work is very much necessary for me. I usually do Field stripping only for oiling.
THANKS IN ADVANCE πŸ™

Its the IOF ammo that is generally to blame, and not your pistol I suppose and hope. The rim thickness and shell measurement varies due to worn out machinery. Even the 9mm IOF ammo is known to misbehave in Govt issued Glock pistols. My advise would be to use up IOF ammo on target/plinking and make a habit of keeping a fresh clip loaded with quality imported ammo when you carry it for protection. Ammo costing couple of thousand Rs. is nothing compared to your life.

If the KF round is not going off and you are getting light hit on the primer then definitely you need to change the hammer spring.

There must be videos on YouTube on how to remove firing pin. Hammer spring tension can not be increased, it needs to be replaced by new one.

Yes but hard primers can also lead to light FP hits. Besides, a new spring is a small price to pay for a life saving tool.

But there is no such problem faced when firing KF ammo in IOF pistol so I guess it's the problem with OP's pistol. Also we should keep in mind that his Llama pistol will easily be 60-70 years old so spring wearing out is highly possible.

Unfortunately these springs are not easily available in India as importing any type of firearms part is not allowed.

Do you know about buying a rifle scope from online?.
Customs send a show cause notice to me. Is rifle scopes are in the same category of a firearm?

Why don't you post your query in the right section i.e 'The Legal Eagle'.
