Ruger 10/22 goes to war as non lethal alternative

Postby thesinfulsaint » Wed May 03, 2017 9:43 pm

The story of how the Isrealis put America's favorite .22 to work.

As for being non lethal (all the time), I'm not sure I agree to that. Nonetheless a good read.

Interesting article, ..Saint.
That one is, by far, the most comprehensive article that I have seen so far on the Israeli use of the 10/22
As I had heard, they changed the rules of engagement as the rifles turned out to be quite a bit more lethal than they expected.

I covered a little bit of the topic in my review of the 10/22. In that post, you can see my daughter shooting an integrally suppressed 10/22 with a synthetic stock and a 50 round magazine.
This is the article that I referenced in my post: http://www.ruger1022.com/docs/israeli_sniper.htm

There are several US manufacturers who make integrally suppressed 10/22 barrels:
Yankee Hill Machine
Gemtech MIST 22
Dakota Silencer (mouse fart quiet is what they claim. ROTFL )

As an interesting aside: Ruger recently announced integrally suppressed 10/22 barrels available for their take down units.
