Is that who Murphy's law was named after? :)
... or is it a demonstration of Darwinian Natural Selection in action?

Not so much of safety precautions, I mean no Eyes and Ears protection !!!

The photograph looks fake to me. Even with a bullet proof vest, hit of a bullet will cause some reaction.

Ms. Annie Oakley, of "Annie Get Your Gun" fame, used to shoot the lighted cigar ends out of the mouths of men who were foolhardy enough to stand in front of her, smoking cigars. This was part of her repertoire in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. The German Crown Prince, later the Emperor Frederick, acted as the "target" in one of her shows. I believe she used a lever action Winchester, perhaps a Model 1873, to perform her feats. The rifle and the rifle-woman both had to be dead accurate or the "victim" would have been dead.

Added in 7 minutes 10 seconds:
Nevertheless, Murphy must have been quite a man to smilingly absorb the impact of .38 bullets, A lesser man might have been paralyzed by the thought of being shot and felled by the impact of the bullet.
"To the man who loves art for its own sake, it is frequently in its least important and lowliest manifestations that the keenest pleasure is to be derived." Sherlock Holmes in "The Adventure Of The Copper Beeches" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
