Remington Masterblaster 8-Bore kiln guns.

Post by Grumpy » Tue Dec 03, 2013 5:37 am

There was a recent thread concerning 8-Bore industrial Kiln guns and ammunition. Here is Remingtons current advertising :

Here are a couple of Winchester advertising videos showing their kilns guns/furnace tapping guns in action:

Very interesting Grumpy, thanks for posting those!

I had heard about kiln guns but never knew how they were used.

Not exactly stimulating mentally ..... but rather fun/satisfying to do I think.

My late father used to wok in a factory with lime kilns in the late 1950s, in Porbandar, Gujarat. Clearing them out was slow tedious business and deaths occurred when some ill informed person tried to take a short cut. The build up has to be cleared manually and the kiln had to be shut down and cooled . The cooling itself takes several days.
