Getting a few dealers to register

Post by Risala » Fri Mar 09, 2007 12:24 pm

Folks
There are quite a few people on this forum looking for arms, ammo and accessories in India.
Rather than just shooting in the dark that I saw abc in xyz place, why dont we try to get some of the more educated & internet savvy dealers register and become part of this community.
For starters we could just call or meet them in person to see there level of intrest.
With the no of new lic being issued on th decline,I think we might just have a few takers.
Could turn out to be a win win for all.
Your suggestion and thoughts please.
Thanks
Sanjay

Sanjay,

Some dealers do post occasionally - Curious House in Rajasthan and a couple others. We are all for dealer participation here especially because many of our members have old guns that are in good shape but unusable because of the non availability of ammunition for them. And, if the delaers offer some token discounts to our members, that would be even better. 8)

But, how do we, as a forum, get mroe dealers to participate? If our members would request dealers whom they know to take a look here occasionally, especially in the Wanted section, it would be a good way to begin. Any more suggestions, ladies and gentlemen?

Since we have practically given them a free listing on the forum maybe we could also ask them to also donate a small percentage (of their choosing) of any business generated through the forum..??

Just a thought.

Jonah,

As of now the forums are free and they shall remain that way as long as possible. Abhijeet has generously shouldered the burden despite several requests from different people to offer their support. However, when we come to a stage where our trust is formed and we decide to take the PIL up, we shall take help from anyone who wishes to offer it. I do not think that there would ever be a percentage commission that we ask for - but if someone is happy with how the forums work and would like to support our legal expenses they could send the money to the lawyers whom we work with in the future on our behalf.

At the moment, it would be nice if dealers made this a regular destination and offered products, preferrably at a discount to our members who are looking for ammunition for old guns, new guns, air rifles etc. There are two notable sources of support of this kind to our members Top Gun Academy offers discounts on their ISSF coaching programmes to IFG members in New Delhi and Mumbai and the Surrey Sporting Club offers world class coaching to our members at a discount at their premises outside London. We hope that other businesses/organisations would follow suit.

Cheers!
