Scroll down. The ban on the import of firearms seems to a very leaky one.

Aren't wild life trophies legal if it comes with the correct paperwork?

I believe they are.The "interesting" word was about someone bringing an African Lion trophy in.

Vikram,

I know that Lalit Thapar and Sanjay Dutt both hunted lion in Tanzania with Harpreet and Mohanjeet Brar of Rungwa Safaris in Tanzania. There certainly were others as well. I am also aware of a leading Indian businessman and Page 3 personality who has a set of four rifles on order with Holland and Holland who would hold them for him in London once they are completed.

Indians do hunt in Africa and if they bring trophies in under the CITES provisions (to which India is a signatory) there is no reason why the trophies should be refused.

Hi Mehul:
