could we just enter the make and caliber (and not model & serial no.) when leaving ? as this gun do not have a readable print on it. I can bear the hassle of obtaining a NOC

Al Sayad has an excellent gun smith trained by Diana and Umarex. The workshop is located in the old Souk area, near SOna Bazar, but deposit and collection can me made at the City Centre mall showroon or the one behind he SAS Radisson hotel.

Carrying an Air Rifle into UAE is no problem, if asked for the purpose, a satisfactory answer that I am taking it for repairs here is sufficient, but remember repairs can take 10 days to 2 weeks here and spare parts for all makes of Air Rifles are not always available, and this includes HW range.

Diana, specially Diana 35 power plant derivatives is not a problem.

I once wanted to purchase some Diana 25 part for Abhijeet about a year ago and could not find it, so be sure before you carry in the Air rifle.

A new Diana 35 costs around Dhs. 800 these days and an HW 80 around Dhs. 1200, ROE to INR is 10.75 to the Dirham.

Where from did you ( Zafar ) get the address of this guy Al Barq in Ras Al Khaimah ? He is a specialist in repairing automatic weapons like AK 47 or M 16 which many locals do have here or the traditional old Winchester 30-06 or .308. Not a place to trust your English sidelock with and no air rifles please, they don't bother with all that in RAK, you can buy a Chinese air rifle for 50 Dirhams here and throw it away and buy a new one from the grocery shop if it malfunctions, no repairs.

Incedently on Feb 1, which is next weekend, some of the team from dubai desert club is going for s shooting session to the Ras Al Khaimah shooting club, about 75 Km from Dubai.

One of my friends Colt detective special is in bad shape and out of time . He is interested in sending it to US for repairs via courier and then can be send back via same route . Does India Arms Act have any provision to support this . Regards. James..

i think that its not the arms act but more of import export problem with the customs. as the Finance Department controls the export import they will be better in giving an answers. or the DGFT
Nagarifle

if you say it can not be done, then you are right, for you, it can not be done.
