Somehow I had missed this thread...
It is wonderful to read various posts...you guys choose the perfect time...hvj1 and Doc were added bonus.
Presence of spouse and children , have underscored the event.
I am truly envious.......

JAPA MEET Contd…

STRANGE as it may seem the SUDDEN transformation of a laidback Sunday morning into a lively bonhomie of like-minded IFGians turned out to be a lot of fun, frolic & fantasia! (Get the drift guys - Sudden & Strange!!!!!)

JAPA MEET 2015 was indeed a “Come Alive” of the wild-west, open landscape, horses, guns, the air filled with the aroma of smoking sage and black coffee brewing!!! Could anyone ask for more???

Perhaps the only sound that was missing was the bellowing of branded cattle…but then the guys more than made up for it by their own bellowing of greetings, backslaps and bear hugs!!!

The disrobing of ARs that came in all shapes & sizes from their padded gun cases was indeed a sight that would have made ‘Jane Russell’ turn a darker shade of pink, if only she were around (remember her in “Billy the Kid”!!!)…many of today’s youngsters might not…but for old timers like me…the sight sure gave me goose pimples all over!!!!!)

From lazy banter to serious exchanges on velocity, terminal energy, accuracy, trigger pull & scope settings could have given any NASA scientist the shivers….knowledge shared & experiences exchanged with passion and perseverance like a meandering river that fertilized the grey cells and wanting more!!!

For an outsider the scene would resemble a bunch of lively kids let loose in a Toy Shop…but then there lurks a ‘child deep within us’ refusing to grow up!!! No wonder the late Tirtha (May his soul RIP) always referred to ARs as TOYS!!!

If words can describe and eulogize the setting & scenario at its best, it’s the pictures that bring to life many a memorable moment each time you look at them!

The NAGRI T-Shirt worn by Essdee & yours truly was a big hit :D Generated a lot of enthusiasm & awareness :D

So here we go………………….
THE HAPPY GROUP REARING TO GO!

Lovely pics and narration Brihaji.

The Nagri T shirts are lovely.

But what had been stealing all my attention from day one is the rifle The Doc is firing. Its definitely a custom built one and matches no other
rifle in production. I am sure it was the show stopper of the day :D

CK
Actually, I can do a very uncanny mimicry of Lee Van Cleef! In fact, I do it all the time when I lose my top. Unfortunately, the shot is so ugly, that I dare not post it here.
