You want them to respond?
Are you on something?
:)

At most, myou can go down there and meet them. Maybe rajiv bhatia or someone.
They shall then tell you that its not under their purview.
Worth a try though brother.
I would have done the same.
Send a copy of the same letter to the ministry of youth affairs and sports with a copy to dsra.
That will light a fire under the right anatomical features.
:)

 just Jet lagged....no pun intended

Sports ministry was the next escalation along with the nrai letter copy and I like your suggestion of cc'ing them in. Will do.

I hear everyone's suggestion of taking an annual/5 year membership but don't necessarily agree with it.

Screw the annual membership.
Go for the life membership.
Why should dsra have an issue in giving you a life membership when they can give you an annual membership? Bo cases have to be approved by the committee! Some one is giving you a crock of lies.
Its because of your voting rights that your life memb is not being granted.
Fight it out.
Mine took roughly 8-9 months too

Any updates regarding the DSRA Life membership delays? My application has been pending for 6 months now!

Can I lodge a complaint somewhere?

Not sure inplainsight, I wrote and got no responses. It's frustrating and tiring. Mine's pending for 8 months now..

Bodhi, it's because yours is annual. I've been adamant (I'm think inplainsight too) on a lifetime membership and I guess that's the reason for the delay- it carries voting rights.

Apparently, they had a meeting last month and no lifetime memberships were approved. The next meeting is not going to happen for a few months. So the wait continues.

SS

I know, I also applied for Life membership only but the delays forced me to take Annual Membership. Will convert it to Life when opportunity arises.

I spoke to Mr. Sharma at DSRA a few weeks ago and was told that they will start issuing new application forms from the 12th of July. Called him today and was informed that the new forms will not be available till the 24th of this month!

My membership application has been pending since 4th January now...

Also, he refused to endorse my application for a NRAI shooter ID. He stated that they only endorse shooter id's for folks who have participated in state events.

I am a bit in seas. How can a guy participate in State Events without a NRAI shooter id? I thought a Shooter ID is must to play any state event. To me the sole reason why Mr Sharma might have refused to endorse the shooter ID should be you being not a member of DSRA.

People who know better, please throw some light.

I had mailed my membership application to DSRA using speed post on 03/01/2013. It was received on the 5th of Jan and I haven't received any updates...

You have indeed mailed your application but mailing your application doesn't amount to being a member. Your membership is pending coz you want to become a Life member. Hence in that case DSRA cannot endorse your NRAI shooter ID form since you are still to become a member with DSRA.

Thats what I understand, other please throw some light.
