The enquiry goes to all this offices directly from the DM office. This is also the case with renewal of the licence. The DM asks for clearance from all these offices..A lot of un required running around,My renewal application is currently stuck with the Dsp and Rdo office.

@syed - The renewal here does not go to all the 3 offices here down at my place. But lately I have been hearing news about getting clearances from the Tehsildars office for renewal.

@lakecity shooter - for a person who is applying for a gun licence from a rural area, these 3 clearances are a must.

"All the best Vivek"!,I am sure your license application will be permitted ,as i believe you have requested for Sporting purpose as at our place certain licenses for sports have been granted for (.22 lr).And yes in the rurals in (Maharashtra)Noc from the Range forest officer stating the place where you reside is not within 20 km radius of a reserve forest is required.

Regard's,
Dhiraj.

Congratulations Vivek Peter! I'm glad you've got your licence. Which rifles have you short listed so far? Have you handled any of them? Like any of them?

Regards.

There is no necessity of property. Please search the legal eagle section, this matter has been discussed in great detail.
