Thanks...it is a 1889 Navy...I am wondering whether I can shoot .38 IOF rounds through it. Not sure if they are equivalent to .38 Special loads.

HOwever you should be aware that ammo for this pistol may be hard to find. It will fire either the .38 Short or Long Colt rounds. It is most likely not safe to fire with .38 Special rounds as they are substantially more powerful.
