Gun Stock Diagram Reqd

Hi,

I am looking for some Gun Stock diagram with measurements, basically I am thinking of making a stock from scratch for .22 Diana Mod 27 and looking for some standard sports design with pistol grip and raised cheek-piece. As discussed earlier on this forum I have to think seasoned teak (known as Segun in WB) or white Shiris to do the job. Any information on this will help.

Remove the old stock and trace it out, then alter the tracing to your design.

Is that all ? Somewhere around here is a stock that I started work on about 5 or 6 years ago !
I`m no stockmaker................and having discovered Hogues Overmolded stocks at such a remarkable price, am never going to be !

Hello Sujay,

Other than this, My method which is a bit simplistic is to get the original photo of the kind of stock I like and then import it into Coreldraw and enlarge it to its actual size. I then trace out the correct outline of the stock and then printout the tiled outline on tracing paper. This I then carbon copy onto the wooden blank. Of course, the actual flush fitting of the barrel onto the stock has to be done manually by trial and error method.
Other than that you could try to sink the barrel onto a plaster of paris mould and get the exact dimentions required. (Never tried this POP method myself though!) Readers please bear in mind that this is the method used by a very desperate person who dosent have any other resource and It has worked for me!
