I was confused with the price, i was thinking it was bought on factory price. Sorry guys in this price i can get a brand new working revolver.I dont know how i missed to read that it is bought from a dealer.
I was expecting it around 40K. sorry once again for the confusion.
amk";p="59345 wrote: Why did you pay 55k? Isn't the official price (incl taxes) in the range of 41k?

Anyway, my license is at least 10 days away, if it doesn't get issued before the 3rd then I'm away for 15 days for Hajj so my purchase will be more delayed until after the 18th of December.

If you are in a hurry and Badshah can organise the logistics then I'm cool if he picks it up.

Badshah, how will you get it to UP?

mhksmk, where in Mumbai are you? If in South Mumbai we could meet up and I could check out the gun myself.

Can somebody please tell me, whether this .22 IOF rev. is centre firing or Rim firing?

Need to know coz this gun's firing pin is striking on the Rim.

Thanks to all of you for your valuable advice. I got the arm working from my gun smith (friend). He used to hold a license for gun - smithing, but he now has surrendered the same.

However, again thanks to all of you.

Hate to butt in but I dont think .22 cartridges fire when struck in the centre. If there are some, dat'll be something new to me.

R.Dhillon.

Actually since the priming compound covers the entire bottom or the cartridge, it would fire.
During WW II the resistance in Europe did produce sevral crude weapons that used the Rimfire cartridges, and had centered srtikers. Most of these were designed for up close personal and had poor accuracy. Plus used the .22 court, short and lr cartirdges.

Let me dig around and try and get a couple of pics. pretty much along the lines of the cruder katta's.

Is the IOF .22 revolver a disaster- i mean i have a new revolver license with me where i have to endorse a weapon- i was keen on this weapon but lot of people including a reputed gunsmith have advised me to refrain from such a purchase
