Scopes in palika

Post by Sid_kapur30 » Fri Nov 02, 2007 4:16 pm

i tried various places but couldnt find a scope for an air rifle. Finally went to a very famous market in delhi, an underground market famous for chors and here it is. He is asking or 3500 but would easily come down to 2k or so. And yes it's Palika Bazzar.

Cheers Sid

Tasco 4 x32 ........I doubt these could be used on an air gun.....these are ordinary rifle scopes. I always thoughtair gun scoped are somewhat different.......correct me I might be wrong.

The price of these scopes used to be around Rs.1500/- in almost all the gun shops till every one stopped selling them . Heard there was an order that anyone selling a scope has to keep in record name and address of the person whom your brought it from and also details of the person to whom you sold it. Both these details had to be sent later to the licensing branch. The rule is the same for everyone. The only difference is that gun dealers follow it and pan walas dont.

So when you buy it you would still have to walk on the tight rope whether possessing it is legal or illegal. If you ask them for a bill you would be handed one for the binoculars which you are allowed to import. Scopes are strictly NO NO......

very true AC...these are not made to sustain the front-back shocks generated by a springer, although they cud be used for pcp's.

Well since the springer Sid has is mild and not a magnum the tasco may just hold up okay. And at that price its pretty decent, make sure that you get the mounts with it.

and possibly get a one piece mount and along with the mountlock ,
i guess, dev the stud is known as a mountlock so that the mount does not move from its place, not sure.

Palika bazar dealer will not have single piece mounts, but a mount can be ordered online or through somebody travelling to India.

Tasco 4 x 32 is fair at Rs. 2500. However even on a medium power springer it will not work.

However this is an excellent scope for a .22 LR or even a 30-06.

When i went to the guy in plaika he showed me the thing with with the mounts they were a pair; made of plastic and were circular in shape and had a screwdriver with it (kind i used on my cycles' break). Plus as per what the man who made the rifle he claims the rifle to be a little more powerful than its IHP variant. If it's true would those scopes survive????

Nice nic. dev :D little corny though

Plastic rings ? and who made the rifle ?

Like I said, this scope is useless for Spring AIr RIfles, forget about it.

Only special robust air rifle rated scopes work on springers, and on high power versions plenty of gizmos like arrestors, or single piece monoblock mounts, with 3 to 4 bindings and preferably windage and elevation adjustments in the mount prior to scope adjustments would be required.

THis Tasco 4x32 is suitable for a .22 LR although but here too not with plastic rings, proper scope rings need to be used.

I think the query is related to the plastic scope rings that the Palika guys have concocted to con the unwary.
