Different Eley cartridges

Had a query regarding the different Eley cartridges. Heard recently that regular usage of Eley club or Eley sport .22 cartridges for practice tends to damage the barrel. The case supposedly is however not the same when Eley tenex cartridges are used. Any truth to it? If yes, why is it so? The price difference between Eley sport/club and tenex is pretty huge. Could someone please shed some light on this matter and also direct me to some articles which point out the exact differences between these cartridges.
