Hi Rudra,

It great that your limit for cartridges is 1000 in a year. You must be one of the lucky few on the forum who would be having such a large quantity of ammo. Whats more important is the quantity of ammunition allowed at one time and not quantity of ammunition allowed during the year.

Thankyou stars that your licence is not from Assam.... I heard the limit there is 2/5 thats is two at a time and 5 during the year ( needs to be checked I am not really sure)

Its crazy in Assam though not 2/5 --its 4 a month and 50 a yeay (another wierd calculation !!!)
I would always wonder how this could be increased. Now I have been told the membership of a rifle club helps. Any one to enlighten me please ???

HI! I had seen a Haryana licence sometime back and its 10/15 -10 at one time and 15 durying the year : whew what a load ;)

Hey Rudra even I have some CCI stingers hollowpoints with chromed cases - I must say that when u let one off its penetrating power and sound is nearly twice that of a normal .22 round - **** **** ***... <Strike one! If you are banned this time, it will be for good. Don't push your luck.>

Thanks for updating on the quantity allowed in Assam.

Its rather strange why they have this unrealistic limit specially when .22 rifle is the most preffered firearms there..............4 ctgs at a time when the magazine is for 10 shots.

Dont worry guys,
In UP, the cops dont have enough ammo to go for regular range practice.Their limit is also probably the same ;)

Rudra can you mention the dealer in Bhagalpur please ?

I'll see if I can send somebody from Patna to Bhagalpur for these cartridges. I would like to purchase 5 boxes ( About 250 ) for my use as well.

In Assam the guy making the license makes it like the ones he is used to i.e. a shotgun. Mine was the same for some years. Then I joined Delhi State and went and met the licensing Deputy Commissioner. She was nice enough to increase it to 250/500. That she said was the maximum that she could give.

In assam the only way anyone can fire a decent no. of rounds is to join ARSA.I usually fire 20 rnds a day(money and not quota being a constraint :-) ).

There are still other licences. My father's 12 Bore Licence still has unlimited quota.

Similarly one of my uncles ( now deceased ) had an unlimited 22 LR licence.

....yaps I know a brick would be 500 cartridges and I dont mind picking up a few bricks...considering the priceof $ 560 ....might be cheap in the US but since we do not import this particular ammo I don't mind buying it....and ofcourse against a valid licence
