Just got a call from a friend,who needs to gift a scope to a client a Russian who has a Merkel SR 1 Rifle.
Any place in Delhi,that stocks them.and what would be approx prices.

Sanjay, not intending to be cheeky, if the Russian gentleman lives in Russia or Europe, it is easier and cheaper to have it delivered to him there than trying to buy it at extortion rates in India.The buying and posting is easier. I tend to agree with Vikram on this one though, it would be better to buy such stuff overseas then here.

I did suggest the same,it was perhaps a one off moment when the Client the Ukranian not Russian dropped a hint that he was looking for a scope,and my friend had to oblige.
Guess doing business with folks in those parts is quite similar to dealing with people in the various Gov depts here.
Where a gentle hint turns into an obligation.
He has left this morning,without the scope,but with quite a few leather garments in lieu.
