Any idea if 12 Bore cartridges are still available in 2" . Recently some one offered me a Stephen Grant sotgun with a 2" chamber.

If it's chambered for a 2" cartridge then it might be a blackpowder shotgun. 2" cartridges are not available in India.

hi,

i would be a bit tricky put you could try cutting 2.5 or 2.75 inch shotgun shells and make 2" shotgun shells. you would need to get the proper dimensions and load information from the net and crimpimg tool of the old style (plenty available on ebay)

of course make sure about the black powder bit. if it is black powder then simply do the needful

people who own .22 short revolvers make do with .22 lr cartridges in the same way.

:)

Chances are remote. ELEY used to make them. Only no. 6 till a few years ago.

In India very little chance. ELEY and HULL 2 inch are still in paper cases and perhaps no. 6 only. Do not go for a 2 inch chamber gun unless you get it for Rs. 5,000 to 8,000.

Do not go about cutting cartridges to 2 inch size. Unsupervised and inexperienced ventures like this could be dangerous. For reloading, modifications etc. one needs to achieve some expertise first.
