New .45 ammo shipment arrives
OK, I'm in the US. As you may have heard, there's a lot of panic buying, relative to arms & ammo. I just made my last big ammo purchase. I usually shop online because the prices are better. Shipping cost is a little stiff, but sometimes it works out just fine.
Many people on my local forum board have been going from store to store trying to find ammo. They've even started posting the stores where they've seen even a few boxes of this precious commodity. Prices are very high now, with vendor price gouging and the smaller shops going to the large chain stores to buy that ammo, then mark it double to sell in their shops.
Having said that, I got a 'heads up' that some 220gr FMJ, South African PMC .45 cal ammo was back in stock at one of the on-line vendors. I went ahead & ordered some on Feb. 20th. It just arrived on March 12th. I don't know the currency conversion, but including shipping, the cost was US$313.00 for 1000 rounds (20 boxes).
I know you guys like Eye Candy, so I will post a pic.

1000 rounds...
...its really an eye candy as in india we get to see only a few cartridges ...
have a happy & safe shooting....
the cost you mentioned is cheaper (when converted to INR) than the cheapest .22 rimfire cartridges.
Regards

CzHarry... why not reload? You could knock up a 1000 rounds on a progressive in a couple of hours...
Then again given the current shortage of supplies maybe not...

Re: New .45 ammo shipment arrives
Eljefe..
5 kG of powder is about 11 lb... or 77000 grains...
At an average load of about 6-7 grains per .45 cartridge... it is a ton of cartridges to load.
I have a half empty 2 Kg jar of N320 which has already helped me shoot several thousand 9mm/+P and will last for a few more years.
Now for rifles... it is a different story.
