Air rifle scope 4x20

Post by Sombit » Sun Sep 02, 2018 5:10 pm

A lot of times I've seen people wondering about where and which scope to buy. Since they are pretty restricted in India, there is lack of adequate information and loads of apprehension. Questions like how much a 4x zoom feels in practical life, whether 20mm aperture is too less and most importantly where to buy from/
Recently I've purchased a 4x20 scope online for just Rs1500 for my Precihole vx 100. I have posted a full unboxing and review on youtube.

See the video and feel free to ask if there's any query.

Also i'd like to address another aspect, the aperture brightness. Due to work i remain busy during the day and mostly shoot at evening and night. I have a flashlight mounted and coupled with it, the scope just works fine in complete darkness.

Boy!
You got some flak on that YouTube video.
Don’t loose heart! You are young. Work hard and soon you will be able to get a much better scope.
Also, it’s easy to sit and troll than to contribute with some honest work.

Cheers!

4×20 is good enough till 25 yds.
It tend to move backward with the shots.
Arresting this backward movement is only issue.
It can not sustain high recoil & lenses tend to loose.

Just saw your video on YouTube. It is a good review video. Liked it. Do some research to enhance your knowledge.
The scope seems to be adequate for Air Rifle. Upload an shooting video. But keep the safety in mind.
Keep it up. Good luck.

As per my Knowledge 4X20 is good for 25/30 yrds. I totally Agree with Basuda on this matter.
For an AR @ 25 yrds Fixed Sites and best for me b coz I think That Installing An optical instrument will unnecessary increase the bulk and weight of the weapon. if its for a Cosmetic look then its ok but for Practical use Any one shooter can shoot 25 yrds with the fixed sites..
Any way that's my thinking..
all the best for the new scope.
Regards

Shivaji

The point made by Basu da is true. It does move backwards due to recoil. But that problem can be fixed using a few drops of fevikwik. Since the rail is made of metal I can scrape off the fevikwik anytime I want. I have uploaded another video, this time clearly focussing on this problem and then a 10 shot grouping from 20 m. The shots have been taken while standing, from shoulder. So please forgive the few stray shots. Any advise would be welcome.

I also have this scope. But it can't be anchored using the stop hole on the receiver. Also araldite or fewikwik were of less effective in stopping the scope. It suits good for PCP.

I love the weight of this 4x20 scope.
I used it effectively on my SDB 45 scope rail.
There is used a lump of Mseal at the rear end of the rail.
I found it difficult to anchor on scope and there no scope to stop it by blob of Mseal.

i feel two basic points matter.
One is whether the scope has Adjustible Objective (keeping in view barrel droop)
Two .. whther it is specific for Air Rifle (keepin in view the jarring of the springer) or its firearm specified scope, which unfortunately cannot sustain the spring jarring shock of the air rifle.
