Chrome plating knife

This is my knife I wanted to know a way to remove the the rust or should I get it chrome plated. Are there any disadvantages in chrome plating it.

I think WD-40 will easily remove the rust on this blade and does not damage the wood. Use a very fine sanding paper or steel wool to clean it up gently. Periodic cleaning with an oiled cloth and storing it away from moisture/humidity will prevent rust reappearing.

0000 Steel Wool, Oil & WD40 and some Elbow Grease :D

You could also do a overnight dip in white vinegar, and then do the process

Once you get the shine back up, you can use 2T Oil, Ballistol, or Wax for preservation
