"Genuine military issue to Gurkha Regiments in India"
I doubt that. The kanzo (bolster) and Chapri (butt cap) are generally made of brass. the full tang construction with split handle is also non traditional. Seems more like a "Tactical" kukhri.
But for 3k seems to be a good buy

The knife india link that is posted above should be more than adequate for your chopping, splitting etc. and can be ordered online.Raghvendrasingh wrote:Hey AnandNair sir

Since your location shows UP... pick one up when you next visit Dehradun. A good Kukhri will serve you for years to come.
My 16 year old Kukhri Made by a master kukhri maker of a Gorkha Regiment. Had served me well as a chopper... even as hammer. Had picked up a large number of dings and dents.
Gave it a good sanding run and buffing. now shining like new.
the handle was cracked... so did a paracord wrap.

ok.. it does say not available once added to cart.
the "Assam Rifles Kukhri" is in stock. same price. Blade length is longer than the "Gurkha regimental kukhri". You may go for that.

Re: is this a good buy?
my advise...
Do not buy anything from knifeindia or collectors heritage...
all the stuff they have is sourced from PRC... nothing is genuine/authentic as they claim..
i had bought 3 knives from them.. all made in china
and when i went back to them with a complaint regarding one product after 3 months of use (the velcro on cellphone knife holder will not stick at all) they refused to exchange or repair the product... the velcro in my sandals have lasted longer than a year with constant use
if you want to buy similar cool looking stuff, try aliexpress.. at least you know the stuff is not genuine and you are buying just for looks..plus you will be spending much lesser than these not-so-ethical sellers
