Night scopes: It's on the Restricted Item list. Reason: They don't want us peeping into the neighbor's house in the night. :)

It does not make much sense to restrict night vision scopes. Can anyone provide the link for the website that gives information about such notification etc.
BTW I was curious about night vision, found some links, even a web-cam/digital camera can be converted to have a kind of night vision, to peep some distance into darkness  :

Mere infrared device in itself is not a crime, neither can any citizen posses such a prohibited arm, hence such combination as mentioned above is not possible. Also I think there is no law making the mere act of acquisition, possession or carrying a device with such optical properties a crime. If there is any, it can be adequately challenged as unreasonable in Hon'ble Courts as a violation of Fundamental Rights for Life and Liberty guaranteed for all persons under Article 21 of Indian Constitution, as it would hamper the pursuit of sense and thought of scientific inquiry, research and innovation among the life of citizens. :)

The Thermal Rifle scopes Like ATN are meant for Rifles like 30-06 with high Recoil ?
