Meet the black death

Post by dev » Mon Dec 03, 2007 1:38 pm

A few days ago while on the Marlin owners forum I came across the Black Death Target created by Coach John Simone of the Top Gun shooting team. Mr. John Simone has been in the army and is a qualified firearms trainer and avid outdoors man and writer. The target was created for rimfire rifles and a match target is used and scored and submitted for the roll of honour 'the order of the white feather'. The target is suitable for benchrest shooters and two distances are shot 50m and 25 m depending on the rimfire rifle used.

I decided to try out the practice target at 7 meters with my scoped QB 78 off hand taking as much support as I could from a wall(by leaning against it). It was a nerve wracking experience as after thirty pellets I only had about two inside the white circle. Any touching the black are an instant wash out or black death.

If anyone is interested I shall post links to where you can download this target and become a better shot.
I'm still at level lousy  .
Regards,

Dev
