Hi Friends,

I have been using Gamo Pro Magnum Penetration 0.177 pellets in my Precihole air gun with Tasco 3-9 X 50 scope. Accuracy of this pellet is amazing and am getting a clear hit up to 45 Meters and pin point accuracy at 30-35 meters. Last week my stock of same pellet got out, since I was quite satisfied with the performance of this particular pellet, I decided to buy more of them. Local dealer was also out of stock of this and he suggested me something else, I didn't wanted to do any experiments with new pellet so I simply turned down his suggestion and moved to inline market.

After half an hour searching, I zeroed into Air Gun India website and found same pellet, but it was in 500 pack and the tin pack was black. The old stock which I was using, used to came in 250 pack with a picture of Hunter on lid. Anyways, I made the deal and a week later I got my courier nicely packed. Top lid was black with same specifications mentioned and a regular Gamo mark. Although this time "COMPETITION" was also written on it.

After shooting several shots, I was completely disappointed with the performance of new lot of same pellets. Accuracy is gone, grouping is very poor and scattered. Pellet tends to go left, up ,down and unpredictable. However, when I am shooting with my old stock( few of them are still left) am getting the same pin point accuracy.

After watching closely, I noticed wing like thin lead lines on opposite side of pellets, just like in cheap pellets. Perhaps these are oozed out extra leads from cast during manufacturing, but these should have been trimmed. The old lot doesn't have this problem. Attaching comparative pics of both for better understanding. To mention here, the shape and size of both pellets are identical.

Could someone tell, does these wing like extra leads on pellets affects accuracy?? am just assuming that this could be the reason for poor accuracy. If yes, what can I do to fix it.

Thanking you guys in advance for your help and suggestions.

The Airgun India website is run by a chap who was banned from this forum due to dubious transactions with other members. You deal with such people at your own peril.

Do you mean to say that this website has delivered me duplicate or some kind of cheap pellets in Gamo packing

Bro. I don't want to say anything Against your dealer but the finishing of first five Slugs is very unlike for GAMO. you yourself can check the same on net. All the reputed brands have a very good finish.

GAMO is not exactly known for quality pellets, but the amount of material left on the seam and the finishing reminds me of the cheapest locally made pellets available here. I very much doubt an international air rifle company will send such pellets to users, although there might be fluke tins.
I too think that wings are affecting accuracy, and you might see some improvement if you trim those off with a knife without damaging the skirt of the pellet.

Looks like the fraud has extended to this too... Keep the pellets safely and write to Gamo USA, they will fix the chap for you...

These sellers are being used in the same airrifle , in the same shooting environment and range . Interestingly the weight of both versions of pellets are exactly same at 7.56 grains . Irregular shape of the projectiles definitely affect it's aerodynamics and particularly at long ranges .
However , the pellets you are complaining about are not ' fake' . It seems a rare stroke of bad luck that you happen to be the choosne one to shoot them .

Added in 1 minute 17 seconds:
Also consider the spring of your airrifle . However if it were a loosened spring , the pellets would have been shooting downwards only

I have bought a lot of pellets from this guy... and when i say lots, several tins. All original. I prefer H&N And that's what I got. However, i heeded the several warnings on the forum and bought it from him through Amazon to take advantage of the amazon guarantee. In that way, if it was duplicate, I could easily have got back my money.

amazon.in or ebay.in aren't selling imported pellets. I thought it will be a descent deal and I will get what am looking for. I wrote a mail to the seller "[email protected]" .. which was mentioned on the website of "airgunindia.com" requesting for refund. This is what I got from them as formal reply:

Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your kind email. Please note that we are mere resellers of the product manufactured in Spain & have no direct / indirect control over manufacturing the same. As far as product packing is concerned, it is as new packing provided by manufacturer. You can verify with them. I have provided you contact details further below.
From your photographs anyone can see that we have done our job as best as possible & delivered the goods in perfect condition. We do not open any of the tins & have no control over it's contents. Kindly write to Gamo Outdoors - Spain.
Please feel free to contact us for any further info.

Cant believe they are simply diverting me to principal company for refund or complain although they enjoy profit margin and take money directly from customers.
