Lifewater , firstly you need to polish all the internal.
Your seal needs a change. Go for a Diana seal.
Try filing the trigger sear to make it straight. Do it carefully. Piston rod looks ok to me.

Thank you very much Big Daddy.. there is only one word "WOW"... I will work on the trigger as advised. Has your gun's piston been replaced at any point of time. It looks so clean and shiny..

Yes. Actually my cannon has been lying dismanteled for some time now. Did the bluing, but haven't got time to assembly it. The piston is a new one, better than the original one.
Where do you stay?

Sir Good Morning. I stay at Assam. I am heart broken to announce that the piston rod was stuck too tight due to rust probably and so I gave it to a workshop to try and unscrew the rod. But alas the Gorilla who tried to unscrew it broke the piston rod !!!. I have been searching around for the rod or the piston and rod online as well as in the shops here but it is not available. Newer ones are available at KOVBAZZAR but these are shorter than the CANON ones. Now I dont know what to do..

Dear Basu da,

Thank you very much for the info. I did try to contact a number of times, but there is no response. Now my only hope is BIG DADDY whom I should be able to contact once I make 15 posts. Would take his help in procuring a new piston or if possible get a new one fabricated.

Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Also would like to ask knowledgeable forum members if the piston of the CANON LG65 with a longer piston rod is only unique to the brand or some other brands too use the longer piston rods. I am feeling very dejected with the issue of unavailability of the spares. Dont know which direction to proceed.

BIG DADDY Sir, I cant send PMs because of my low post count, so if you see this post of mine, can you direct me the next step to take.

Thank you all in advance,

Lifewater

Lifewater,

I might have a sparp rod lying somewhere. Right now I am on a 2000km road trip driving. Will be back on Friday. Will check and sent it. No cost.

Just to give you all an update. I received a very well made custom piston and rod made from EN24T Steel very kindly sent by BIG DADDY Sir, that too free of cost. He went to the extent of paying for the shipping too. Such a helpful person he is..

I was too tied up in my visits to the tea gardens and only yesterday I was able to assemble the gun with the new piston. I have used PRECIOLE synthetic seal for the piston and "BASU" seal for the breech (Remember the gas pipe modification)...

The gun is working fine and seems to be quite powerful. Only problem is that at 15 mts the groups are 1 ft apart YES.. it sprays pellets all over the place. I am not a bad shooter as with my PRECIOLE .177, I can consistently hit a metal scale (1.5") width 10 times out of 10 at a distance of 20 mts...

What should I do now ?? grateful if the knowledgeable forum members can please help.

With warm regards,

Lifewater

ROTFL I will have to give the "BASU seal" a try!!
As the gun is shooting well, I think the problem lies in the barrel or breech seal. If you clean the barrel and make some modifications to the breech seal,I think you will have a winner. You may have to change the breech seal to leather or you can get a synthetic one that fits it well , like the SDB seal. From what I have heard, the accuracy of the canon is legendary. Best of luck with your problem,, I hope BD and Basuda will solve your problem in no time.
