I'm just surprised that they chose the open (sit-on) kayak's instead of the closed "sit-in" kayaks.

This is another blog by Sandy Robson Aussie kayaker and she is trying to follow the route of legendary german kayaker Oskar Speck who in late 1930s on whim started kayaking to India etc. He was the first person to Kayak around India and then ended up in Australia in mean time WW2 started and was interned as enemy alien, after war settled in Australia. His journal is worth reading..
Sandy has amazing journal too for her Indian experience how much Coast Guard assisted her but how dirty and polluted Indian shoreline is with trash and sewage etc This is appalling
