Had picked up 2 new rods yesterday for Amir and Mehr.
Mehr scored a decent Bream on a no 4 aberdeen hook,4lb line on a diminutive pink rod / reel Uglystik which she chose herself at the tackle shop- -with a very Indian bait of ATTA, turmeric, coconut and vanilla-so much so that the other kids stopped using the fish/squid/prawn/chicken skin(kindly donated by wife!) and went gung ho on Atta-Cauvery mata ki jai ho? Wife is active in the process-makes sure Amir /Mehr get their bait changed and knows how to 'reel reel reel', but insists on shooing away any fish which come to the bait, if she's on the rod. I swear she shooed away a decent ray a couple of weeks ago when it was just the 2 of us fishing on the pier
A very solid biryani and fish n chips repast after the expedition.
There was a bit of a downside.Being chief 'deckhand', tackle arranger, dehooker and mule, I had carried a rod for myself in the wild hope that i could also fish, but between sorting out tangles and hooking bait and what not,no such luck.I lost the top half of a Shimano baitcaster-am left with the bottom half of the rod and a Rovex baitcaster reel loaded with 15lb braid...
The bream is filleted and awaits in the freezer.
It was so much fun,we will do it again!
