Cannon-65 Model 1987

Post by tirths » Sun Apr 06, 2008 1:45 pm

This gun I have purchased in 1987 at Rs.750. One of the accurate gun I have found. Also the trigger is very smooth. It has a long 1 pull. Having a excellent muzzle break. My guess is that, this gun is a copy of BSF.

Please let me know if you have any other guess.

Please find the picture here.

Hi,
Cannon guns are made in Kolkatta. Till 10-15 years back these were supposed to be the best airguns. One would never get any complaints in the working, the finish was nice rather it was the best. Have no clue about them now.

I visited the shop very recent past wher I have purchased the gun in 1987. Still they are selling it. But the workmanship is not at per. However it still can challenge
other best selling.

I also have a canon airgun. Its model no is LG-035 it is in .22 caliber. It has a peep sight and is very accurate and powerful even though it is arounf 39 years old. I prefer it over the IHP guns. The only problem on mine is that the trigger pull is very heavy.

My trigger pull is very smooth though! Perhaps I have done done some tuning.
There is screw behind the trigger holder, you can move the screw clockwise to make the trigger light. Moreover, you can apply some all purpose grease in the trigger hook.

As you said, the gun the not only accurate also having a great workmanship. IHP is nowhere comparable.

The scope rail on the cannon is DIY or ex-works ? It looks quite sturdy

Looking at the extension this has, I guess Dhoni has something similar, as pictured in another post ...

I saw a few Canon air rifles in Madikere about a month back. The ones were underlever and looked pretty good, the pricing was similar to IHP.

Cheers

The Canon air rifles are still available. Saw a few at Asian Armoury in Bangalore. Finish was better than the IHP ones. Tried a few of them and felt that they were better to shoot. Power and accuracy out of the box was also good.
